His Excellency Dr. Fahad AlDawood, the Judicial Inspector General for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is in Trinidad and Tobago in his private capacity for the very first time to learn about the rich and diverse culture of Trinidad and Tobago as well as to explore local investment opportunities. This is an official visit of the Trinidad Saudi Chamber of Commerce (TSCC) done in partnership with the Ministry of Trade through InvesTT, and other cooperating governmental agencies.  His Excellency, Dr. Fahad Aldawood who is also an Honorary Member of the TSCC, expressed his enthusiasm to be in the beautiful twin-island republic of Trinidad. He looks forward to visiting large-scale investment projects in multiple fields such as energy, real-estate development, financial institutions, oil and gas, and tourism. His visit to Trinidad is scheduled to last one week during which time he will be meeting with the Minister of Trade and pay courtesy calls on other  Ministers. His Excellency was received at the Diplomatic Lounge by the Honourable Nizam Baksh, Minister of Public Utilities, Ambassador of Peace with the United Nations and President of the TSCC Mr. Shazaad Mohammed, Chair of the Court of Governors of TSCC Mr. Umar Khan and President of InvesTT Mrs. Racquel Moses. On the first day he had the pleasure of meeting with the Honourable Minister of Planning Dr. Bhoendradatt Tewarie, as well as Chairman of the Chaguaramas Development Authority Mr. Daniel Solomon, who accompanied His Excellency on a tour of the peninsula to view different areas and islands that would be of interest to the Gulf and Saudi investors. Dr Aldawood also visited the Minister of Finance the Honourable Larry Howai and discussed the possible establishment of banks and financial institutions that are Sharia compliant. His Excellency is very optimistic  on the relationship between the governments of KSA and T&T. He anticipates that this relationship will enhance commerce and investment, as well as help facilitate services for the Muslim community in Trinidad and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.  It should be noted that this is an historic visit. This is the first time that such a high ranking Saudi has come to Trinidad and Tobago.  The Trinidad Saudi Chamber of Commerce will regularly host trade delegations from KSA to visit Trinidad to explore investment opportunities as well as arrange trade missions to visit the KSA.
